A student-led society at Swansea University
We bring computer science, maths, engineering, data science, business and economics students together to learn financial technology by building it — in the open.
Who we are
Fintech isn't one discipline. The systems that move money are built by engineers, priced by mathematicians, and shaped by economists — so a society about them shouldn't belong to a single department. Swansea FinTech is a student-led society at Swansea University that puts those disciplines in one room and gives them something real to build.
Everything we make is public, and everything you contribute is credited to you. Your work is your portfolio — the society just gives it a home.
What we do
Talks and socials with academics, other societies, and people working in the industry — connections you can actually use.
Cross-discipline teams building employer-worthy projects, developed in the open on our GitHub organisation.
Workshops, debates, research groups and study sessions — from first principles to working software.
Our work
Our projects live in a public GitHub organisation, open-source by default, with every contribution attributed to the student who made it. When you apply for a job, you point at real work with your name on it.
Join us
We're launching for the 2026/27 academic year, which means the people who join now shape what this society becomes. Whether you want to build, speak at an event, or partner with us — get in touch.
